We’re happy to finally show you who’s playing XRDS26. A moodboard for the spirited, the adventurous, and the free-willed dancers among us.
Two days of electronic music, on August 14 & 15, at the crossroads of Brussels and gathered in the wild bloom of Parc Des Étangs. We’re here to shake the deck and dive into a fine selection of the 50+ artists defining this year’s edition.
THE MINDS BEHIND THE HIVE
There’s no evolution without risk. It’s in the details, the unexplored, the match you and I didn’t see coming, the hope without knowing for certain. Take it in, and let your inner child roam free across our canvas.
We’re turning the clock back and forth, looking inside and out. Our endless search for the perfect blend shows up in more than one direction: more techno than ever, a trip into house’s prog-leaning side, and a rock-steady drum & bass return, all with playful tranced-out edge to keep it balanced and light-hearted.
“Foundations and futurists”
Look closer, and you’ll see that modern techno stands on the bricks laid by Ben Klock, or the machine mastery of Colin Benders (live), both taking over the star-studded ‘Viaduct’ stage on Friday and Saturday. They’re joined by techno futurist Chlär, while brother-in-arms and hard-groove purist Alarico steps up to a revamped ‘The Bridge’ on Saturday. Yanamaste, riding an uncontrollable rise as a frontrunner of fast, technical new-wave techno, joins the fold too.
“Breaks, bass and open roads to something beautiful.”
Breaks and backpack trips to the ‘Outskirts’ come courtesy of genre icon Goldie and the fast-footwork, jungle-inspired energy of SHERELLE. southstar lands on Friday alongside Mischluft, lifting ‘The Bridge’ into an upper-echelon state of trance. Local icons like Kuba’97, Bobbi Watson, Ako, and many more represent Brussels’ community-driven culture in all its chaotic splendour. We wouldn’t be here without them.
“Continuity? Yes, but different.”
We’re embracing continuity too, welcoming returning artists in new contexts. After last year’s back-to-back with Efdemin, Altinbas returns with an exclusive solo live, currently announced only for XRDS and Berghain, with just a handful of select festivals to follow. Previously appearing live as part of Voices From The Lake, Donato Dozzy returns for a solo closing DJ set, drawing from his own catalogue to explore a more hypnotic, long-form approach.
